I know I’m not the only one who just saw those 5 proposed new stadiums for the 2022 World Cup and thought “wow, that was cool as shit!”  If that’s what Qatar looks like – I might have to make a trip in 2022!  Who’s down?!

Congrats to all the Russians and Qatar(ians) for winning the hosting duties of the 2018 and 2022 World Cup respectively.  It sucks for us Americans as we all thought we were going to get 2022 but the selection committee thought otherwise and rewarded Qatar.  Wait – what’s a Qatar?!

English National Soccer Team player Gary Lineker had a little accident during a 1990 World Cup match versus the Ireland National Team as he shit himself right on the field.  Good thing those shorts were able to cover it up.  All my fellow athletes know, this is the exact reason why you go drop your kids off at the pool BEFORE the game starts.

Dikembe Mutombo shows off some of his soccer skills for this latest Visa World Cup promo.  I think Deke would make a pretty good soccer defender in his prime.  He play’s defensive minded, is long (pause), and would be tough to dribble around.

Now that America has been eliminated from the World Cup – does anyone still care?  The real question is – have you seen what’s in the stands?!?!  If not, check out these soccer groupies fans Larissa Riquelme and Doris Mar.  I would not mind one bit watching a World Cup match chilling with one of these girls in the stands.  More pictures of the Argentinian model after the jump.

The World Reacts To Landon Donovan’s Goal

I don’t know about you but this World Cup madness has me wanting to bet on sports again!  Especially since the intensity is about to go to whole another level now that the field is down to 16 and it’s win or go home.  This round of 16 begins today with Uruguay vs. Korea and then the game all of AMERICA is waiting for – USA vs. Ghana.  Tomorrow’s action includes Germany vs. England and Argentina vs. Mexico.  A coworker brought this up the other day – if USA wins this year’s World Cup, is that a bigger victory when we upset Russia for the Gold Medal in Olympic Hockey?  Will American’s start to give a shit about soccer then?

Anyways, on to this video that i got from Martin Rogers from Yahoo Sports – a senior at Purdue University, Robert Denoho, gathered a bunch of different footage from bars across America and the World celebrating Landon Donovan’s goal to advance Team USA into the next round.  After instantly going viral on YouTube, someone showed this to the Team USA overseas and supposedly Landon Donovan shed some tears after watching it.  I’m not shocked at all though because I even got some goosebumps watching it.  LET’S GO TEAM USA! USA! USA! USA!
