Nike does it again. To reward 8 Nike schools who’ve been dominate in college basketball, the athletic apparel company is lacing up these national championship colleges with newly designed “HyperElite” uniforms. They’ve each been crafted with notched up performance in mind (lightweight fabrics, laser-etched perforations for breathability) and maintain a minimal impact on the environment (96% recycled materials on the jerseys and 100%) on the shorts. While Arizona, Duke, Florida, Kentucky, Syracuse, UNC, and Baylor all are getting these new uniforms, UConn will be the 1 school rocking them when their cutting down the nets come early April. Check out all the new jerseys after the jump.

I’ve been a fan of Lamb’s since before he stepped foot in Connecticut and now, especially after this, you can expect to see a major bandwagon this season for the sophomore. Kemba’s gone, this is Lamb’s team now.
Video: 2011 NCAA March Madness – One Shining Moment

A day late but I’m back from M-I-A-YO so the posts will be back to regularly scheduled programming. As I predicted (once the Final Four was set), UConn took home the win over Butler behind the decent Championship Game play of Kemba Walker, Jeremy Lamb, and the rest of their role players. The game was UGLY but a win is a win and it is Coach Jim Calhoun’s 3rd national championship. Congrats to UConn and all of Connecticut because that’s all they got out in CT. Of course, a NCAA Tournament wouldn’t be an NCAA Tournament with out the final conclusion of March Madness with the infamous One Shining Moment montage. Shouts to Jose3030 for the video rip.

University of Kentucky vs. University of Connecticut. UK vs UConn. Wildcats vs. Huskies. Coach John Calipari vs Coach Jim Calhoun. Brandon Knight vs. Kemba Walker. UK NBA Alums (like DeMarcus Cousins) vs. UConn NBA Alums (like Rudy Gay). So many storylines! This Saturday can’t come fast enough! It’s going to be a battle for the history books. I’m expecting an instant ESPN classic with UConn pulling through with the W. Shouts to Nike Sportswear!
The Official Final Four Poster

Anyone else still having a hard time realizing that this year’s four teams are the ACTUAL four teams left in the tournament?! UConn and Kentucky aren’t that surprising but VCU and Butler are. I know a lot of casual fans will probably be tuning out of the VCU vs. Butler game so if CBS is smart they’ll put the UConn and Kentucky game as the nightcap on Saturday.
2011 Men’s NCAA Final Four – UConn, Kentucky, Butler & VCU

This has easily been one of the most craziest NCAA Tournaments in recent history! On one side of the Final Four we have Butler and VCU, two teams that absolutely NO ONE picked to be in this position, and then on the other side we have two traditional college basketball powerhouses in UConn and Kentucky but still no one predicted them to withstand their brackets to represent in the Final Four. The Coach Calipari and Coach Calhoun battle will be interesting to watch as they’ve had beef stemming back to Cal’s UMass days but I’m going to roll with UConn edging out Brandon Knight and Kentucky in OT and then VCU shocking the world again with a victory over Butler. Unfortunately for VCU, Kemba Walker, Jeremy Lamb, and the rest of the Huskies will be too much for them to handle.
Want to see something crazy? Out of 14 ESPN College Basketball analysts, only TWO had UConn in the Final Four (Jay Bilas and Jay Williams), and ZERO had Kentucky, Butler, or VCU.

This is what March Madness is all about! Poor Gary McGhee got stuck on a mismatch as Kemba Walker ended up breaking McGhee’s ankles by giving him that New York crossover, that New York step back, and that New York jumper to win the game as the time ran out. I called it days ago but I got UConn winning the Big East Tournament. The Freshmen have been playing strong and this is Kemba’s city so he won’t let his Huskies go down with out the title.
Side note – I need someone to explain this to me…Kemba Walker is in the discussion for NCAA Player of The Year yet doesn’t win his conference’s (Big East) Player of The Year award. No knock to Ben Hansborough but he’s not in the Player of The Year discussions…at all…

Terrence Jones Dunks All Over UConn

Coach Calipari has him self another player in Terrence Jones. And I’m not just saying that because he had this viscous dunk last night but also because he finished with 24 points as he seemed to be the only Kentucky player that could handle the feisty UConn defense led by Kemba Walker.
