What’s Twitter Beef? Ask These Two Philadelphia Eagles Reporters

September 29, 2011 by

Everyone online has a Twitter beef now and then but most of the time it dies and fizzles out before anyone actually pops off in real life. But in the City of Brotherly Love, Twitter beef is handled in the streets locker room of the Philadelphia Eagles. Here’s the play by play, Philadelphia Inquirer writer Jeff McLane called Philadelphia Daily News writer Les Bowen ”an old hack” on Twitter, which prompted Bowen to reply in a tweet “I will handle my business in person, not thru yapping on Twitter. But thanks for your concern.” And that he did. You can see in the video above while everyone’s interviewing Michael Vick, Bowen starts calling for McLane’s head and then Howard Eskin of NBC 10 and WIP reports via Twitter that Bowen “connect[ed] 2 the head” of McLane, and that the two had to be separated. Gangsta! #TeamLes

Everyone loves to log on to Twitter and get their live-tweeting commentary on during tv shows, sports games, or whatever else is going on in everyone’s insignificant lives (myself included) but Gilbert Arenas mastered the art of live-tweeting.  Live vicariously though Agent Zero’s blind date as he got hooked up with a girl that thought she was thee queen of ZAMUNDA. I don’t think that’s anywhere near Orlando…

Twitter Introduces Photo & Video Sharing

By buying out third party applications and introducing new features like Photo & Video Sharing, Twitter is slowly but surely saying goodbye to their Twitter competition. They will be partnering with PhotoBucket to share photos which will eliminate users having to use Twipic, Yfrog, or other such image hosting sites. Expect to see the camera button next to your status update on the Twitter by Web soon enough.

Twitter Buys Out TweetDeck For $50 Million

In Twitter’s company growth expansion movement, they have recently purchased very popular (the desktop app that I use and recommend) third-party client TweetDeck for an estimated $50 million.  I hear next up is Uber Media, the makers of popular BlackBerry Twitter app UberSocial.  I’m not sure what Twitter is going to do once they buy out these apps but I’m sure they’ll use it to their strengths to regulate certain privileges of what those third-party apps allow you to do which Twitter.com doesn’t.  Hopefully they don’t ruin my TweetDeck!

Introducing: Uber50 Twitter Application

It’s Fifty aka Uber50. Rapper / business man Curtis Jackson has teamed up with UberSocial (Twitter application makers of UberSocial, Tweetdeck, Echofon, Twidroyd, and others) to make a 50 Cent themed Uber50 Twitter application. The application is pretty much UberSocial (BlackBerry users will be familiar with this one) but with 50 Cent themed skins and other G-Unit type branding. Read what 50 had to say below or check out their new website.

Twitter has become an important way for me to communicate with my fans and for my fans to communicate with each other. We’re all big users of UberSocial on the BlackBerry and already use many of their current themes to customize the look of the app, so it was natural for me to work with UberMedia to develop a special theme.

Angry Birds – Three Big Pigs

If you enjoy the game Angry Birds, political satire, and Twitter, then this Three Big Pigs video is perfect for you.  Watch it in under 2 minutes and you’ll be able to learn all about what’s been going down in the Middle East starring Dictators Ben Ali, of Tunisia, Mubarak, of Egypt, and Gaddafi, of Libya, are the three big pigs, and the revolutionaries are, of course, the angry birds.

President Obama – “Cheers To Technology”

Besides President Obama, the rest of those faces in that photo aren’t too recognizable but they’re the brains behind different digital platforms that the world uses every second, every minute, and every day.  This picture was taken from a United States Technology Business Leaders at a dinner in Woodside, California last week. Is Zuckerberg going to go home and tag all of his new friends on this photo?!  Did Costolo try to make this dinner a #TT?!  What did they eat?!  Did they all laugh that no one from Foursquare was there?!  Do Google and Apple have beef?!

President Obama, Mark Zuckerberg (Facebook CEO), Valerie Jarrett (Whitehouse Advisor), Dick Costolo (Twitter CEO), Carol Bartz (Yahoo CEO), John Hennessey (Stanford Pres.), Reed Hastings (Netflix CEO), Larry Ellison (Oracle CEO), John Doerr (VC, who’s house they were in), John Chambers (Cisco CEO), Art Levinson (Genentech/Roche board of directors), Eric Schmidt (Google CEO), Ann Doerr (wife of John), Steve Westly (VC), Steve Jobs (Apple CEO)

UberTwitter Returns To Twitter As UberSocial

Shouts to the UberMedia team for hearing my rant out and getting their app back up on Twitter asap.  Now us BlackBerry users can start tweeting through our phones again through their new app called UberSocial (formerly UberTwitter).  The #FreeUberTwitter movement was in full effect and showed just how bad the Twitter For BlackBerry app really is.
