Throwback Saturday: Royce Da 5’9 Ft. Clipse & Pharrell – Mr. Baller

I love the collabo on this song: Royce, Clipse and Pharell team up for this track Mr. Baller. I feel like Royce and the Clipse both have an intense style that go well together and this came out (2002) when Pharrell was still producing quality beats. This song is off Royce’s mixtape Rock City (Version 2.0). So for all you ballers’ out there, enjoy!

Throwback Saturday: Mobb Deep – Temperature’s Rising

Well folks, nicer weather is coming our way (finally), and what better way to appreciate it than posting up Mobb Deep’s track Temperature’s Rising. Even though they’re talking about temperature as in heat from the cops, we will make it work. Song is off the classic album The Infamous. If you want to know why I love Mobb Deep, give that album a listen.  Straight “gutter” NYC hip hop at its finest.

Throwback Saturday: Outkast – So Fresh And So Clean

The weather is finally nice out on the East Coast so it’s time to get So Fresh And So Clean with them Outkast boys Andre 3000 and Big Boi. Guys can finally pull out their cargo shorts with some nice kicks and not worry about the slush ruining them and the girls can finally put a way their uggs, hoodies, and sweatpants.  Enjoy your weekend!

We all know that Will Smith, the actor is cool, but as a rapper is kinda corny.  Regardless though, Miami was a smash hit back in the day and The Scheme King is there right now soaking that South Beach sun up so this is dedicated to that little trip he’s on.

Throwback Saturday: Big L – The Heist

I can’t believe I have only put one Big L song for Throwback Saturday. Here he is with The Heist. Song is off The Big Picture, which was released in 2000. I am pretty sure that is when the song was released too. Since Big L was murdered in 1999, they took all the tracks he had worked on and put them on that album, so it is possible the song had already been released prior to the album.  Either way, RIP Big L.  Enjoy.

Throwback Saturday: Fat Joe Ft. Nas, Big Pun, Jadakiss & Raekwon – John Blaze

This weeks throwback is a compilation track with some of the best rappers. Its off Don Cartegena, which was released by Fat Joe in 1998. Album peaked at #7 on the Billboard 200 and was Fat Joe’s 3rd album. Enjoy.

Throwback Saturday: Eminem – My Name Is

Going back to 1999 and posting Em’s first hit, My Name Is due to the fact I think people forget how good he was.  Of course he is still the man today, but it my opinion nothing will ever compare to Slim Shady LP or Marshall Mathers LP.  Enjoy.
