I won’t lie, Future’s grown on me. He’s been given a lot of love from some of Atlanta’s ‘old head’ artists such as Ludacris and T.I., but homie has been grinding on his own for a bit. His newest mixtape ‘Astronaut Status’ is set to drop Thursday, January 12. Is there a better way to get fans hyped up for a new tape by showing them old clips of Michael Jordan hitting game winners and hip-hop mogul Diddy in his prime? You tell me.

This was another dope track off Ludacris’s recent mixtape — 1.21 Gigawatts: Back to the First Time — that featured Maybach Music’ rising star Meek Mill and was produced by recent Taylor Gang signee and former 3-6 Mafia member, Juicy J. Peep the video as both get goonish on a few folks with a Jigsaw mask.

I’ll tell you guys one thing that’s for certain: A lot of rappers aren’t feelin‘ Drake. At all. I’m a fan of Drizzy’s and he’s certainly put out some hits but a lot of rappers who’ve been in the game for a long time don’t like his approach to hip hop, they think it’s too soft for what they’ve built. Maybe they’re right, but the times are also changing. When Common dropped the single “Sweet” from his latest album The Dreamer/The Believer, a few of his lyrics were interpreted as a jab at Drake:

“Yall n*ggas man, y’all soft motherf*ckers/Singing all around me man, la la la/ You ain’t motherf*cking Frank Sinatra/Uh, lil’ bitch…./Sweet ass motherf*cker.” ..

During a recent show in Las Vegas, Drake reportedly reacted to Common’s jab, saying, “I might sing, but I ain’t no bitch. If Common got something to say, say it to my face.”

Well, Drake’s manager (Noah Shebib) took it to his Twitter account when he first heard the diss:

In hip hop, this is out it goes: If guys hear something on a song and feel like it’s about them, then it usually is. You know what you do and how you sing or whatever the case may be, but I understand how it can come to somewhat of a surprise when it’s a diss out of nowhere (what’s up with Pusha T not liking Drake, anyway?). Common is a real rapper so I was actually kind of shocked when he decided to throw that out there. Is it because Drizzy’s on top or because he was with Serena Williams at one point? Who knows. His album ‘The Dreamer, The Believer’ already leaked out onto the internet last week but hits stores this Tuesday, December 20. That Luda we’ve been missin’ is back, and you’d know what I mean if you downloaded his new mixtape 1.21 Gigawatts: Back To The First Time. It went hard. One of the most popular tracks off the tape was Shake N’ Fries featuring Gucci Mane. After watching this video I thought it was filmed in KOD (King of Diamonds). Just out a playa was trying to get some fries wit’ it.

This video is just dopeee. It gives you that Houston, Texas strip club feel, ha. Big K.R.I.T. has been on the mixtape scene for a while now and for anyone that knows anything about rap music, it’s that 8Ball & MJG have been around since the front door. Formally “Tity Boi” and Ludacris’ right-hand man, 2 Chainz has blown up like the Goodyear blimp during the second half of the year, especially with his track “Spend It” featuring Tip. This past Sunday, Atlanta-born rapper Ludacris held a basketball charity event dubbed “Luda Day” too help raise money while also giving us hoop fanatics something to drool at. The game featured NBA stars such as Carmelo Anthony, Brandon Jennings, Chris Paul, Kevin Durant and Josh Selby. Despite having those big names too help bring in the crowd, there’s one player who’s arguably more famous than them all at the moment: Justin Bieber. Minus the obvious, the kid can actually hoop and has some nice handles (ask Steve Nash).

Minus the NBA stars, there were some streetballers in attendance such as Philip Champion, also known as “Hot Sauce,” who is arguably the most famous AND1 player on the planet. Now I don’t want to give anything away so checkout the clip to see Bieber get a taste of his own medicine.

Pretty much every rapper not named Jay-Z, Kanye West, Tupac, or Biggie has a verse on DJ Khaled’s new album.  Usually these rap posse cuts sound forced and out of place but DJ Khaled usually does do a good job of putting them together.
