The Roots Ft. John Legend – The Fire Video

This song is dope and so is the remix!  You may notice that none of the members of The Roots or John Legend is actually in this video as director Rik Codero wanted to make more of a movie more than the typical music video.

“The Fire” chronicles a post-apocalyptic death march set in 1945 during the final stages of World War II in Europe. After a cataclysmic event renders the war futile, a paramilitary splinter group — led by a Kurtz-like figure known as The Commodore — forces the transfer of young men who will be used as labor…and food. The last survivor of the march receives a mysterious White Box which holds the key to survival. – Rik Codero

Rick Ross Ft. John Legend – Sweet Life Video

Another music video from Ross’ Albert Anastasia EP.  That street album is arguably the mixtape of the year and Teflon Don is looking like it’s going to be a title contender for 2010 as well.  Believe in his story or not, Rick Ross and his Maybach Music Group is making some SERIOUS music this summer.

John Legend & The Roots – Wake Up! Tracklist

After just dropping “How I Got Over“, The Roots team up with John Legend for a collaboration album Wake Up!.  The album is heavily influenced from the 60′s – 70′s era and has a number of cover songs.
