The crew at BGR is breaking the news that Apple is preparing a new iPhone release in the Fall of 2012 (about the same time that this year’s 4S released).
BGR has learned a number of details surrounding Apple’s next-generation iPhone from a close source. For starters, we can now confidently say that Apple’s next iPhone will launch in the fall next year, around the same time that this year’s iPhone 4S launched. We have also learned that Apple is planning to use a rubber or plastic material — similar to the material used in the company’s bumper cases — that will be built into the new iPhone case. In all likelihood, this material will be used as a bezel surrounding the front edge of the phone (like the iPhone 3GS bezel) and it will serve two purposes. First, it will join the glass iPhone face with a new aluminum back plate. It will also cover a redesigned antenna system that surrounds the device, allowing Apple to build the rear case out of aluminum without having to use a large plastic insert above the antennas as the company does on its iPad 2 Wi-Fi + 3G. Earlier reports suggested that Apple’s next-generation iPhone will feature an aluminum case similar to the one found on the iPad 2, as well as a larger display around 4 inches.

Someone on YouTube is claiming that this is the iPhone 5 concept features but c’mon a Holographic Display?! Not yet homie. Give Apple a few more years and then I think we can have this video be an accurate representation of the iPhone 8, 9, or 10. Or maybe even beyond. The good news though is that a new iPhone 4Gs or 5 will definitely be coming out in October despite Steve Job’s recent resignation of Apple CEO.
Two and a half more months and this BlackBerry Bold 9700 is getting thrown out the window! Hello iPhone 5!
Apple Inc. (AAPL) plans to introduce a new iPhone in September that boasts a stronger chip for processing data and a more advanced camera, according to two people familiar with the product.
The device will include the A5 processor, the more powerful chip that Apple added to the iPad 2 earlier this year, along with an 8-megapixel camera, up from the 5-megapixel model in the iPhone 4, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the details aren’t public. Apple is also testing a new version of the iPad that has a higher resolution screen, similar to the one now used in the iPhone 4, one of the people said.

This is one app all you iPhone / iPad / iPad 2 / iPod touch sports fanatics must have! The free app provides ESPN streaming content from their network of ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU, and ESPN.com as long as you are a Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, or Verizon FIOS TV subscriber / customer. For now this is only available for the iOS operating system but I’m sure an Android version is in the works.
App Gives Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks and Verizon FiOS TV Subscribers Live Access to ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3.com content
NEW YORK, N.Y. – April 7, 2011 – ESPN announced today its flagship network ESPN as well as ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN3.com are now available to Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks and Verizon FiOS TV subscribers via the new ‘WatchESPN’ App for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch, now available on the App Store.

The free WatchESPN App includes a simple user interface that takes the current online viewing experience to the high-resolution, Multi-Touch displays of iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. The company first launched an online-accessible authenticated version of ESPN in October, 2010. Authenticated versions of ESPN2, ESPNU and ESPN Buzzer Beater/Goal Line launched in January, 2011. Consumers can access the channels through a centralized website, ESPNnetworks.com.
The WatchESPN App is available for free from the App Store on iPad or at www.itunes.com/appstore.
The App will be available on other smartphones and tablets in the near future.

I don’t even think BlackBerry and iPhone’s have mascots but if they did they wouldn’t be able to dance like this Android. How does one even make moves like that in that suit?
Thoughts on this dude hacking the Times Square video screen? The comments on the YouTube page are going back and forth with some people saying it’s feasible and other saying yeah right. If you got the time, tools, and happen to be in Times Square sometime soon – try it for yourself:
the way it works is pretty simple: plug in my transmitter into the iphone 4 and play back any video clip. you can play it through the ipod feature or through the camera roll. the transmitter instantly sends the video signal to the video repeater and the video repeater overrides any video screen that it’s being held next to. it doesn’t matter what shape or size the hacked screen is because the hack video will simply keep its correct dimensions and the rest of the hacked space will stay black.
i chose times square for my demo because it has lots of video screens to try it on. it is also one of the most monitored and secured areas in new york city and that made it that much more fun :). you can see in my video that the repeater is pretty powerful but the signal is not very stable yet. i’m working on that. i will post a new video later this week explaining how i made this prototype.
