Free Weezy! Funkmaster Flex had a special guest interviewee last night on Hot 97 as he manged to get Lil’ Wayne to phone in from his correctional facility on Rikers Island. The interview lasted 10 minutes (the allowed phone time Weezy has) and they talked about his fans; how often he talks to Drake, Nicki Minaj, and Mack Maine; as well as wanting to do a song with Andre 3000 and Tech N9ne as soon as he is released. Weezy was in good spirits as he even shouted out Karla Moy and Karen Civil for their work on WeezyThanxYou.com and Flex’s new blog InFlexWeTrust.com. About 90 days until the martian is free. Part two of the interview is after the jump.
Peter Rosenberg’s Summer Jam Footage

Radio personality Peter Rosenberg caught some interesting footage of this weekend’s Hot 97 Summer Jam Concert. I can vouch (good looks again to my man AP for hooking it up with two free tickets) that the new Meadowlands Stadium was as live as it seemed in that footage!

I don’t care what city you’re from, your local radio station does not throw a bigger concert than New York’s Hot 97 annual Summer Jam Concert. A few hours they announced the show will have performances by Drake, Trey Songz, Ludacris, Fabolous, Nicki Minaj, Gucci Mane, Talib Kweli, Hi-Tek, Juelz Santana, DJ Khaled, and Usher. Knowing that it’s New York, I won’t be surprised if DJ Khaled brought some friends (i.e. Rick Ross, Jeezy, Plies), if Jay-Z and Beyonce showed up (because Hov runs this city), and if Cam’Ron and Jim Jones have a Dipset reunion on stage. Get your tickets now at Hot97.com so you don’t miss out on any of the great performances or surprises.
Chris Brown’s Interview With Angie Martinez

Of course New York’s Hot 97 got the first radio interview with Chris Brown and none other then Angie Martinez sat down with the kid. They sat down for a good 30 minutes or so and covered everything from the Rihanna incident, his “relationship” with Jay-Z, his new music, and even #chrisbrownsbowtie. I only listened to part 1 and he said “at the end of the day” and “yea” at least 100 times each. For the rest of the interview click here.
