The La Familia at Dime Magazine linked up with New York City’s DJ Mode to make this dope basketball inspired 7 Foot 7 Foot Mixtape where classic hip hop was mixed with new age cuts of today.  Download link below:

In case you didn’t know, 2011 marks the the 10 year anniversary of the birth of Dime. And with the new year upon us, you’re going to be seeing a bunch of unique and exclusive stuff dropping for our loyal readers. To kick things off, we decided to team up with NYC’s DJ Mode to create an all-basketball themed mixtape titled, 7 Foot 7 Foot, to symbolize two giants collaborating. With classic music from The Notorious B.I.G., Ice Cube and the Wu-Tang Clan scratched, cut up and blended with new hits from Jay-Z, Lloyd Banks and Dipset, Mode strategically chose songs with classic basketball references, names of NBA players and elements of overall basketball lifestyle.

New York City had a double dosage of hip hop this Thanksgiving week as Nicki Minaj had a show Thanksgiving night and the Dipset Reunion Show was yesterday evening.  Nicki Minaj’s show included appearances by Busta Rhymes, Keyshia Cole, Rihanna, Drake, and Kanye West while the Dipset Reunion Show had Cam’Ron, Jim Jones, Juelz Santana, and all of their Harlem goonies in attendance.  Hit the jump for the rest of the footage.

Cypher & Performance Videos From The 2010 BET Hip Hop Awards

I didn’t watch last night’s BET Hip Hop Awards but I heard the highlight of the night was the above G.O.O.D. Music cypher that included Kanye West, Common, Big Sean, Pusha T, and CyHi Da Prynce.  The rest of the night’s cyphers included “freestyles” from Wiz Khalifa, YelaWolf, Raekwon, Tyga, Royce Da 5’9″, Ice Cube, Rev Run, Diggy, Busta Rhymes, Mickey Factz, and otehrs.  The night’s performances came from Rick Ross, Diddy, DJ Khaled, MC Hammer, Gucci Mane, Swizz Beatz, J. 50 Cent Unites New York Hip Hop

At 50 Cent’s ThisIs50 event he did the unthinkable by getting G-Unit, D-Block (Jadakiss, Sheek Louch, Styles P), Dipset (Jim Jones and Juelz Santana), Maino, Cory Gunz, and others all together for a great show in New York.  To see all these New York rappers in one location with out beefing considering all their past tension is crazy.  Good job Curtis; clap for him!
