Music Video: Curren$y Feat. Jet Life – First Place

December 12, 2011 by

Spitta’s been doing his lately; he dropped a mixtape called Verde Terrace back in August — which was dope –, and he has a album coming out real soon labeled Jet World Order. Off that album, Curren$y decided to leak easily one of the best tracks that featured crew members Trademark Da Skydiver (Who directed the video) Young Roddy and Sir Micheal Rocks. This track is definitely one you can keep on repeat all night at the crib if you’re having some people over, just check the video.

New Music Recap (Rick Ross, MMG, Eminem, Curren$y & More)

Start your weekend with some New Music from the MMG goons, the Bad Meets Evil duo, and Spitta. Descriptions and download and streaming audio player links below:

That picture above? The artwork for Rick Ross’ new song with Meek Mill and Gunplay.  Nothing like Bill Russell with his 10 NBA Championship Boston Celtics rings with a Rick Ross logo imprinted on his forehead.

Those Maybach Music Group dudes take no days off. Even though they just dropped Self Made, Rozay is already cooking up new music (above) and then Stalley and Wale are cooking up with Wale’s homies.

Bad Meets Evil gets Bruno Mars for a radio friendly hit. Typical record label shit.

A new release from Curren$y’s Weekend at Burnie’s album that’s dropping June 28th.

I’ve never been to a Rock The Bells but hopefully 2011 changes that.  This year’s line up has a nice mix of old school legends with young and up and coming talent. From Lauryn Hill, Nas, Raekwon, Black Star, Mobb Deep, Ghostface, Slaughterhouse, Mac Miller, Curren$y, Big K.R.I.T., Freddie Gibbs, Childish Gambino – there’s an artist for everyone. Also, with these big festivals you can always expect a big surprise or two. Get your tickets while they last!

When the pound (#) sign starts appearing on album titles and movies then that’s when Twitter can say they’ve officially taken over popular culture. For now, they just live on songs and it’s not even that big of a deal or no one really cares to notice. Anyways, here’s a video for Curren$y’s #JetsGo which is the first single from Spitta’s next street album project called Weekend At Burnie’s. Check out the album cover below that will be releasing via Warner Bros. on June 28th.

Maybach Music Group Presents Self Made Vol. 1 (Tracklist)

April 19, 2011 by

First off, shouts to fellow NRFer Stalley for signing to Maybach Music Group (via RR).  That’s a boss move and a good look right there. With that said, it doesn’t look like the Ohio emcee made the final cut to make an appearance on the Maybach Music Group Self Made album that’s dropping on May 24th but I’m sure he’ll pop up on an iTunes bonus song or two.

The rest of the Self Made album looks beastly though.  Judging off this tracklist and production credits it looks like these 19 new tracks will be going hard.  Beats are made courtesy of Just Blaze, Lex Luger, Cardiak, Jahlil Beats, The Inkredibles, DJ Toomp, and verses from Rick Ross, Wale, Meek Mill, Pill, Diddy, Drake, J. Cole, Curren$y, and others will all appear on the album.

Nardwuar vs. Curren$y & Big K.R.I.T

Nardwuar really made the most out of his SXSW trip.  He first interviewed Odd Future and then Lil B and then caught up with Jet’s Pilot, Curren$y, and that talented dude from Mississippi, Big K.R.I.T.  He always makes for an entertaining interview so make sure you hit the jump to watch the second one.
