International Trailer: The Town

I’m very excited for this movie and low key think Ben Affleck, Blake Lively, and Graham King can propel the film to compete for movie of the year.  We won’t be able to tell how good it’ll actually be though until it releases next friday September 10th.  In the meantime, watch this international trailer above and then the original trailer here.

This is the second Ben Affleck featured film this year that looks like its going to be pretty good!  The other being, The Town, which actually looks like it’ll be EXCEPTIONALLY good.

Bobby Walker (Ben Affleck) is living the American dream: great job, beautiful family, shiny Porsche in the garage. When corporate downsizing leaves him and co-workers Phil Woodward (Chris Cooper) and Gene McClary (Tommy Lee Jones) jobless, the three men are forced to re-define their lives as men, husbands, and fathers.

Bobby soon finds himself enduring enthusiastic life coaching, a job building houses for his brother-in-law (Kevin Costner) which does not play to his executive skill set, and perhaps the realization that there is more to life than chasing the bigger, better deal. With humor, pathos, and keen observation, writer-director John Wells (the creator of “ER”) introduces us to the new realities of American life.

This movie looks sick!  The cast looks on point, it was produced by Graham King (The Departed), and Blake Lively is a dime in my book!  It’s releasing on September 10th, 2010.

Doug MacRay (Ben Affleck) is an unrepentant criminal, the de facto leader of a group of ruthless bank robbers who pride themselves in stealing what they want and getting out clean. With no real attachments, Doug never has to fear losing anyone close to him. But that all changed on the gang’s latest job, when they briefly took a hostage–bank manager, Claire Keesey (Rebecca Hall). Though they let her go unharmed, Claire is nervously aware that the robbers know her name…and where she lives. But she lets her guard down when she meets an unassuming and rather charming man named Doug…not realizing that he is the same man who only days earlier had terrorized her. The instant attraction between them gradually turns into a passionate romance that threatens to take them both down a dangerous, and potentially deadly, path.
