Nike Football is already schemin’ on some big moves but what better impact than to sign the consensus #1 draft pick out of Stanford, Mr. Andrew Luck. Welcome to the Swoosh family…
‘Bron James Wants Peyton Manning In South Beach
Peyton Manning’s no longer an Indianapolis Colt. Okay, time to move on to the next chapter of your football career. And personally, despite the 12 or so team rumors going around, I think the best place for Peyton would be in Miami. According to ESPN analyst Adam Schefter, he reported that Peyton wants to stay in the AFC. Now, there are plenty of teams he could go to (Denver, Houston and Kansas City, specifically), but he and his family do own a condo in South Florida. Now, I’m not saying that just because he owns some property on Miami Beach that the Dolphins have a bigger chance at signing him — he’ll also look into which team he has the best chance at winning with — but it certainly puts them at the top of the list with their young talent.
Hooking up with Brandon Marshall downfield would be extremely hard to pass on. Lets not forget about the running game with Reggie Bush and Daniel Thomas, along with the young, but ever improving, defense.
With Miami’s win over the Atlanta Hawks Wednesday night, LeBron James gave his two cents about the possibility of Manning coming to South Beach and whether he’s open to it.
“I’m just saying,” he told the South Florida Sun-Sentinel. “Dolphins need a quarterback, and Peyton’s available…I’m a Miami Heat player, and I want Miami sports to be great. The U, the Dolphins, the Marlins, the Heat, of course. Peyton Manning is a great player. No matter what happened this past year, his resume speaks for itself and it would be great to have him down here.”
Peyton’s the kind of guy who doesn’t lollygag and toy with our heads – he’ll let us know his decision within the next week or so. He wants to play, and he wants to get out there and practice and make sure his body is ready to return to football. It’s still only March so there’s a lot of time, but if there’s one thing we know about time, it certainly doesn’t slow down.

Marshawn, aka Beast Mode, has been rockin’ grills since he was in high school. And with his new 4-year contract worth $31 million ($17M guaranteed), why stop copping ‘em now? Peep the video to see Lynch get a custom made grill with ‘Seahawks’ embedded into it. Dope!
Colts To Part Ways With Peyton Manning
Father time yet remains undefeated.
Just like that, after 14 seasons, the Peyton Manning era is over in Indianapolis.
Announced Tuesday afternoon via Twitter, sources told ESPN NFL analyst Chris Mortensen that the announcing of Peyton’s last day as a Colt will come during a conference on Wednesday between the 36-year-old quarterback and owner Jim Irsay. Manning, who is a four-time league MVP, missed the entire 2011 NFL season after having his third neck injury (a sign that would lead most to retirement) and the Colts struggled mightily without him judging by their 2-14 record.
Despite a video surfacing over the weekend of Peyton throwing very accurate passes at Duke University, the Colts organization is ready to move on instead of risking the money on a not so sure player coming off a major surgery. Most die hard Colt’ fans will take this hard, but when you look back on the success over the years that Peyton’s brought to the city, letting go becomes that much easier. He built Lucas Oil Stadium, along with a children’s hospital. And being taken to the playoffs 11 times and winning a Super Bowl are things that should not be looked over. Manning’s broken every record possible at the QB position as a Colt, and unfortunately he will not be retiring as one.
There have been reports of Manning possibly playing for the Redskins, Cardinals, Broncos, 49ers, Texans, Jets, Chiefs or the Dolphins, but as of right now, those rumors remain simply speculation. Whoever lands the 4x MVP, will either be blessed, or made a mistake on signing him depending on how his body holds up. I don’t believe that Manning’s career in football isn’t finished. His career has been a cerebral one rather than a physical one, and guys like Ed Reed – who hits players – came back from neck injuries and remain a Pro Bowl talent.
Far from a Colts fan I am, but it was a blessing to watch Peyton and what he has accomplished in Nap Town. And for us fans sake, I sure hope we see a revived QB battle like the old days between Peyton and Tom Brady.
Oh, and let’s not forget about this famous quote:
“I asked if I could see Bill Polian before I left the building,” Manning told Peter King of SI.com in 2008. “So I went into his office, and Bill and coach [Jim] Mora were in there. Those are two of the most intimidating people I have ever known, and here I was, wanting to know what they were going to do. To be honest, I felt they were kind of stringing me along. So I said, ‘I’d really like to come here if you want me. But if you don’t, I promise you I’ll come back and kick your ass for the next 15 years.’”
Video: Sh*t Tim Tebow Wouldn’t Say

Now that Tom Brady and the New England Patriots schooled the Denver Broncos last weekend, we won’t be hearing Tim Tebow’s names on every minute of SportsCenter for the next 3-5 months. To send everyone off from hearing Tebow’s name for the next few months, we post this funny viral spoof called “Sh*t Tim Tebow Wouldn’t Say”. Obviously it’s a spinoff from all the other “Sh*t People Say” videos but this one has some decent jokes – especially at 1:02 LOL.

The New York Giants Dirty Bird All Over The Atlanta Falcons

Eli Manning, Hakeem Nicks, and the rest of the New York Giants stomped out the Atlanta Falcons today to continue their fight in this year’s NFL Playoffs.
Buccaneers Fire Head Coach Raheem Morris
It’s not easy being a Bucs’ fan (trust me, I know) these days. Hell, if it wasn’t for our Super Bowl win all the way back in 2002, it would hard to remain a fan at all. But for some reason we continue to love and support this team, no matter how bad. It’s kind of like the Chicago Cubs; they haven’t won a World Series in over 100 years, yet, people in Chicago love them as if they were hanging up pennants like the Yankees.
If you haven’t heard already, Tampa Bay’s head coach Raheem Morris was fired early Monday morning after going on a 10-game losing streak after starting the year 4-2 and riding first place in the NFC South. After going 10-6 last season, there were extremely high expectations for the youngest team in the league, but they regressed quicker than they improved.
Guys like Josh Freeman (who many consider an elite QB) struggled throughout the year and dealt with a thumb injury, LeGarrette Blount wasn’t the rookie sensation that he was the previous year and fumbled almost every time he touched the ball, and Mike Williams caught the exact same amount of passes with 65, but hauled in only 771 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Far less than the 964 yards and 11 touchdowns during his rookie year.
In three years as the youngest head coach in the league, Morris went 17-31, but what do you expect when you come into an organization with absolutely nothing to work with on offense except 2 or 3 bright spots? Not to mention Morris also ran the defense, which is nowhere near what it was during the late 90′s and early 2000′s when guys like Warren Sapp, Derrick Brooks, and John Lynch were flying around the ball. Ronde Barber’s still there though, looking like he’s never aged a day.
Despite coming into a bad situation, Raheem had nothing but positive things to say:
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Glazer family for the opportunity they gave me to be the Head Coach of the Buccaneers,” Morris said in a statement his agent provided to ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter. “I was honored and blessed to have spent the majority of my coaching career with the same (class) organization. I grew up with the Bucs and I was fortunate enough to be part of a Super Bowl victory there.”
There were a number of things that went wrong this season, starting with Freeman. Josh threw 16 touchdowns vs. 22 interceptions after tossing 25 TD passes and being intercepted just six times in 2010. We also turned the ball over a league-leading 40 times, compared to 19 last season. Our defense wasn’t what it was, either. We dealt with injuries and threw in backup players that couldn’t fight their way out of a wet-paper bag, which resulted in league-high 494 points given up.
Tampa couldn’t win with a young coach, which means it’s time to bring in an establish veteran. A guy like Jeff Fisher — who has made it clear that he wants to make a return to coaching and would be the first guy the Bucs’ call because he’s the best available — would almost be a perfect fit with this young team. He’s been there, he’s done that. He’s been coaching teams when most of these guys weren’t even born yet or just walking around in diapers. He won 140 games and made it to the Super Bowl.
Despite of stating what Tampa needs, there are also things that the Glazer family (owners) should do, and that starts with general manager Mark Dominik. We need a real GM, someone who isn’t afraid to spend money to go after top-tier players in free agency and the draft. This is a guy who once re-signed Quincey Black over Barrett Ruud (who, at that time, was our leading tackler for four-straight years. Something only Derrick Brooks has done), when he should have addressed a rather weak safety and outside linebacking position.
The receivers are decent, but outside of Mike Williams, there really isn’t another go-to guy, which caused Williams to get double-teamed most of the season. So it certainly wouldn’t hurt to go after a veteran receiver who can make plays and go down field.
Barber, who’s been with the team since ’96 and has already contemplated retirement and fought to keep Morris’ coaching job, says things are a lot different:
“It seems like a long time ago. It seems like a lifetime ago, to be honest with you. It’s been a lifetime ago for a number of years. … It almost seems like a different career,” Barber said before the Atlanta game. “Lots changed since then. Our philosophy in the building. Definitely the way we play defense. It’s not the same.”
Barber is a straight-shooter and he’s seen it all, and in my eyes he’s a Hall of Fame player and arguably the most complete cornerback in NFL history, but if Tampa plans on making a return to playoff contention, a head coach is the least of their worries.
I think it’s safe to say that Barber won’t be returning and why should he? He’s 36 years old, did everything he possibly could for this team in 14 years, so why should he go out there and break his back for an unsure thing where players quit? It’s just not worth it anymore.
When the Buc’s bring in another coach, hopefully they won’t make the same mistake they did with Morris: Bringing in a guy into a bad situation and expecting him to win with almost nothing to work with, and then fire him because he didn’t bring you a Super Bowl.
Packer’ Fan Has Sign Of The Year

The Packers are “America’s Team,” not the Dallas Cowboys. They have arguably the best fans in football — how many other people want to sit on cold steel when it’s 20 below? — and they technically own “stock” in the team. You saw what happened after Brett Favre left, and now, judging by the photo, you’ve seen what happens when you cheat on a Packer’ fan. As if getting caught cheating on your girlfriend isn’t embarrassing enough, but now the entire world knows you did? Dude, unless that chick was Kate Beckinsale, you mine as get a facelift and change your name.
NFL’s 2012 Pro Bowl Roster
Everyone loves seeing the new Pro Bowl rosters when they drop, it gives people plenty of opportunities to agree and disagree on which players are going to Hawaii and which ones are staying at home watching it on TV. As for me, there are a couple players that didn’t make it onto the list that I believe should have, but I’ll save that for a rainy day. So in the meantime, peep the full AFC and NFC Pro Bowl rosters after the jump. (* Denotes starter.)
