Welcome To New York City, Melo!

To be honest, I’m as far as a New York Knicks fan as they come.  I love to ridicule hardcore Knicks fans and their constant optimism that their team’s time is coming.  Now that Carmelo has joined the #BlueAndOrange AND I live in New York City now, it’s kinda cool.  The team is still not going to win any championships but they’ll be fun to watch.  So in conclusion, to be clear, I’m not hopping the bandwagon by any means but I’ll definitely be tuning into more games on the MSG cable channel than I ever have before.  Besides, Melo sounds happy to be home.  Good for him and his family.  Clap for him!

Crazy!  This Carmelo Anthony interview with Conan O’Brien was filmed literally hours before the official trade to New York was made.  Melo truthfully still had no idea where he was ending up (or staying) but then by the time this aired, everyone knew he was a Knick.  If you watch the full interview you can see Conan give Melo a hilarious Nets / Nuggets / Knicks jersey all sewn together as one.

Carmelo Anthony Is Finally A New York Knick

FINALLY!  This almost became as bad and annoying as this summer with all of the “where is LeBron going” talk.  After all the speculation between the Knicks and New Jersey Nets, Denver finally agreed upon a deal with the Knicks to send Carmelo Anthony’s talents to the Big Apple.  The full details should be settled in the morning but for now check out DenverPost.com for the latest as they were the first to break the story.

2011 NBA All-Star Game Highlights

With all of the NBA athletes on the floor for last night’s All-Star Game I was expecting a little more excitement.  It was a West Team blow out until the 4th quarter when LeBron rallied the East to step it up and make it competitive.  In the end, Kobe Bryant (37 pts, 14 rbs) and Kevin Durant (34 pts)made sure the victory was the Wests while The Black Mamba took home MVP honors in front of his home town.

NBA All-Star Saturday Night Video Recap

Kudos to the NBA, TNT, and the participating players for putting on a great show last night.  Check out this great montage the NBA put together highlighting the night’s festivities.  The Atlanta Hawks team won the Shooting Stars contest, Stephen Curry won the Skills Challenge, James Jones won the 3-Point Contest, and Blake Griffin won the Slam Dunk Contest.  The Dunk Contest was one hell of a show and props to Blake, JaVale McGee, DeMar DeRozan, and Serge Ibaka for showing out.  Hit the jump to watch the complete Slam Dunk Contest courtesy of MWP.
