Allen Iverson Speaks On The Return Of The Reebok “Questions,” Football, & The Possibility Of Playing In China
It’s hard to find a player that was – or is – more popular than Allen Iverson. Myself, a kid who spent his younger years growing up in the southern parts of Florida, didn’t even have a favorite basketball player from the same state I resided in. Most were fans of Tracy McGrady, Anfernee “Penny” Hardaway or even Shaquille O’Neal. But me? My favorite player was always A.I. I had every single pair of his sneakers that ever hit the shelves in Kid’s Foot Locker, along with his jersey’s, and I even tried to emulate the same cornrows by getting my then afro braided .. I wanted to be Allen Iverson.
But then again, what kid didn’t?
Back in ’96 during Iverson’s rookie year, Reebok came out with his signature shoe: The white/red colorway “Questions.” He famously crossed Michael Jordan wearing them and scored 40-plus points in five straight games toward the end of the season in them. They’re arguably the most popular basketball shoe ever created. And the best part about them? He didn’t even know they were being made for him.
From SLAM Online‘ Tzvi Twersky‘s interview with VP of Reebok Classics, Todd Krinsky:
Derrick Rose isn’t exactly having a season that he was hoping to have (given all his injuries), but he’s still putting up MVP-like numbers (22.5 points and 7.9 assists) despite only playing in 37 games. Just announced today via NBCChicago.com, Rose became the first Chicago Bull to grace the cover of GQ Magazine since Michael Jordan (who made his appearance back in ’89). With the issue set to grace newsstands everywhere next week, you can preview some of the article after the jump that features quotes from Rose on Michael Jordan, LeBron James’ decision and President Barack Obama.
Samoan/Polynesian tattoos are the some of the coolest things on this planet. I always wanted one but it wouldn’t make sense for me to do so since I’m not of Samoan descent. If you haven’t seen WWE’s superstar The Rock’s giant tribal art that goes from his traps down to his arm, well, you’ve definitely been missing out. Peep the video as The Rock, aka Dwayne Johnson, gives his side of the story about the meaning of the tattoo.
Whether he’s beefing with Common or not, Drake continues to do his thing. I won’t lie; I like his music, his flows, his lyrics and how he speaks the truth and doesn’t care what people think about it. That’s the way everyone should be. Who really cares how people look at you for being honest?
Drake, 25, was chosen by GQ Magazine to be on the cover of their April Issue and first ever “Style Bible” guide. (Basically stating that Drizzy cleans up nicely) If you’re wanting to read the interview where he discusses everything from music, to his father to women, you can find that here. But if you’re just looking for the photos, (ladies) you can find those after the jump.
Back in the 90′s, Arizona football was rockin’ like a, well, a house party. They had swag, sizzle so to speak. Nowadays, the football team hasn’t really been something to brag about like we used to, but the parties are still the same, if not better. And after spring training came underway on Monday, there was a reported incident at a house party where four football players were arrested.
Here’s the main piece from the article:
one of the men responded by shoving one of the women backwards. The man was later identified as former safety Joshua Robbins. After being shoved, the resident slapped Robbins, who then proceeded to punch her in the face – starting a brawl between the football players and members of the party.
The players left after the brawl, but before leaving said, “We will be back with our homies.” A short time later, the players returned “in a group of between 10 and 30,” and a man later identified as sophomore offensive tackle Fabbians Ebbele forcibly entered the home and “began punching everybody he could reach.”
People at the party told officers the UA players entered the home and began assaulting male members of the party while several women attempted to stop another fight from happening. One woman was pushed up against the wall by Robbins. Robbins continued to push other female guests and residents.
Members of the party identified Grandon after he “punched a female guest in her face with a closed fist and began punching other females in the face.”
Wow, what a great way to get ready for the season; by punching women. And judging by the above paragraphs, only the women at the party seemed to be attacked. The report also stated that as officers arrived, an SUV was spotted speeding away and was ultimately pulled over. And inside the vehicle was Jared Tevis, Jourdon Grandon, Fabbians Ebbele, Eric Bender and Justin Washington. All players except Washington were charged and removed from the car.
Charges have yet to be pressed but after something like this, I’m sure they’re going to be.

By now you’ve heard that Jay-Z and Beyonce had their first child together over the weekend and they named their baby girl Ivy Blue Carter. The name is a little nontraditional so of course you can leave it up to the internetz to begin the rumors and speculations.
The logical speculation: Ivy is in reference to the Roman numeral IV (4) as that is Hov and Bey’s favorite number. They were both born of the 4th of their respective months, Beyonce even named her latest album 4, and they were married on the 4th. And then Blue is in reference to Jay’s favorite color (my favorite hue is Jay-Z blue, the Yankees are navy blue, and he named so many of his albums Blueprint).
The Illuminati speculation: well just see the Tweet below…
Does this photo really need an explanation? I remember my first roller coaster. The funniest part about this entire thing is that LaMichael James’ teammate, Kenjon Barner, was the one who posted this via his Twitter account to let the world know that despite being fearless on the field, James is absolutely terrified of tons and tons of steel doing loops at 60 MPH.
Photo: Source Magazine Names Rick Ross “Man of the Year,” Big Sean Earns Himself “Rookie of the Year” Award
After Drake was featured on their last issue, Source Magazine decided to give props to easily the most successful artist this year, Rick Ross, by naming him their Man of the Year (Seriously, find me a better magazine cover than this. I dare you. Rick Ross is the only dude on planet earth that can look dope with a Big Bird fur coat on his back).
In his first detailed magazine interview since his shocking seizures, Man of the Year Rick Ross opens up about his near fatal experience. “I went and seen an actual neurologist to tell me what was really going on. My condition was basically extreme exhaustion,” says the boss, “…it was a real eye-opener for me.”
That’s work of a real boss.
As for G.O.O.D. Music’ artist Big Sean, he was named Rookie of the Year and opened up in the magazine about his success, beef with other rappers (Ludacris), and a sexual harassment suit that was against him earlier in the year. Peep his first major cover after the jump.
