Photos: Nike LeBron 9 & Kobe VII Elite Series

With the NBA Playoffs right around the corner, Nike Basketball is unveiling their “Elite” Playoff Series of sneakers for their breadwinners Kobe Bryant and LeBron James. Both players get a special Elite series colorway in Black / Gold for away games and White / Gold for their home games. While both models have the same design, new materials have been added to the current build, including: updated Flywire made with Kevlar aramid, carbon fiber midffot support shanks that extend from the heel to the wings, and Nike Pro Combat inspired padded collar protection. Video: People Already Waiting In Line For The Yeezy 2′s

Beverly Center Mall, Los Angeles, CA: “Sneakerheads” already in line for the Nike Air Yeezy 2′s that have a release date of April 13th. The people in this video said they’ve been “camping out” since February 29th. That’s going to be a total of nearly 7, yes, SEVEN weeks of waiting in that line to get these shoes…Between the Galaxy Foam release and the Yeezy 2′s, this sneaker hype is starting to get a little out of control. Nike Gives The Kobe VII’s The Invisibility Cloak

Kobe Bryant is not enrolling in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft with Harry Potter BUT he is getting one of the young wizard’s Invisibility Cloaks. This new colorway of the VII (7′s) is a mix of deep purple with a shade of turquoise blue and depending on the angle that your looking, the sneaker will reflect a different light – hence the invisibility. This is the first time I’m seeing of this new colorway and it’s being a pretty sudden release with little to no pre-heat as they’re releasing this Saturday February 18th at select House of Hoops by Foot Locker.

Nike / Jordan Brand are playing ZERO games this year with the amount of heat their releasing. AND it’s only the beginning of February, wait till the All-Star Weekend releases roll around! The next must cop for sneakerheads? The retro release of the Cement 4′s. Retail is for $160 and they’ll be out next Saturday February 18th at all accounts.
