For everyone in NYC, I’m passing on this info for a charity movie event being held at the AMC Loews Theater in Lincoln Square on August 10th at 7:00 PM. It’s $15 for adults and $10 for children and the price includes a movie ticket as well as a gift bag (the value of the gift bag is more than the price of the ticket!). The event is being held by law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges and 100% of all proceeds go towards St. Jude’s Research Hospital. You can buy tickets or donate here, so check it out and get some “free” stuff! They’re not allowed to say the name of the movie in advertising so I’ll give you a few hints: Katy Perry and the color blue.
Who doesn’t love free stuff, let alone free food? Ruby Tuesday is giving away 100,000 free burgers this weekend if you ‘Like’ their page on Facebook. So head over to this link to do so and they will e-mail you your free burger coupon. Hurry though because they’re going quick and the deal expires on July 17th.
It’s like 100 degrees out under the shade right now, go to 7-Eleven and get a free Slurpee on the house. While your there, get a free Party Hat in honor of their 84th birthday.
Watch out Groupon, Living Social, and every other deal website out there – Google is coming for that check! Yes, even Facebook Deals needs to watch their back. The business model is simple and very competitive and with all of Google’s resources, I think they could come out as the leader of the pack in this industry when it’s all said and done. Currently they’re only offering deals in Portland, New York City, Oakland, and San Francisco, but I’m sure every major city will be added on shortly. Sign up for their deals at google.com/offers.
Free Krispy Kreme Doughnots FTW! Today only. Gotta love how America has a NATIONAL DOUGHNUT DAY. Fattest country in the world! Speaking of which – where’s the boneless fried chicken I just ordered to the office?

I know you all love free so I wanted to put all you Xbox 360 players onto this free service of Hulu Plus until next Friday May 6th. The usually subscription-based service will be available for free for all Xbox Live Gold and Silver members who will have complete access to your favorite shows from ABC, Comedy Central, FOX, NBC, MTV, and many other cable channels. All good things come to an end and after May 6th the service is $7.99 per month to subscribe. Not bad a deal / price if you utilize your Xbox 360 for all forms of media and don’t have a cable TV subscription. Hit the jump to read Microsoft and Hulu’s full press release on the subject matter.
In Facebook’s never ending journey to conquer the internet and own the world – they introduced their newest feature this week – Facebook Deals. The feature will be similar to what Groupon, Living Social, and FourSquare are currently doing by teaming up and partnering with different local businesses to offer discounts on products and services by using the social network. Currently the Facebook Deals are only offered in Atlanta, Austin, Dallas, San Diego and San Francisco but expect a full roll out of cities sometime in the near future.
