Everyone knows the Brooklyn Nets have a new home – the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. The arena opens this weekend with Jay-Z pulling off 7 shows in 8 nights. And then later in the season, the Nets hit the new court. Asides from the shows and basketball games, the arena just might be the most high-tech stadium in sports, with a steel and glass exterior ringed by the Oculus, extending out 117 feet and hovering 30 feet above the main plaza. Its 360-degree high-definition display will show everything from game highlights to art installations. Inside the 18,200-seat facility, fans will enjoy free Wi-Fi, as well as an app that allows them to order food without leaving their seats. There’s also 8,000 square feet of LED signage, highlighted by a high-definition scoreboard visible from all the main doors.

Aesthetically it looks like a mix of Pinterest, Instagram, and Tumblr but with the functionality to take back their popularity and users from Facebook and Google+ (do people actually use Google+?). It also seems like there’s a lot going on and I personally think with a backer like Justin Timberlake, they would have had an easier time to rebrand a new company rather than try to bring back “MySpace”. People (meaning, myself, personally) automatically associates dead with MySpace.

Ben Baller, celebrity jeweler (currently), formerly a lot of cool jobs and things just released his first reality webisode series where he ices out an old school “Benz” chain for Pusha T. The series went from being a FUSE network reality show, to being cut, to being back in the loop, to having MTV in the mix, then MTV dropping out, and then Electus and Google to finally being the suitors. Take a look at the sizzle reel and first episode with Fabolous he pitched to those above production companies above a few years ago:

It’s not often that an NBA Champion Point Guard, 3x NBA All-Star and 2x NBA All-Defensive Team basketball player interns at your office. But during this summer’s off season, the Boston Celtics star Rajon Rondo took his working hours to a new office – the GQ Magazine office.
