Will Ferrell Announces Anchorman Sequel

What might be — no wait, scratch that — is my favorite Will Ferrell movie (Anchorman) will finally have a sequel in hopes of topping the ridiculously hilarious original film that made its debut back in 2004.

In case you missed Wednesday nights episode of Conan O’Brien, where Ferrell guest appeared as Ron Burgundy (and even performed with his flute) and told Conan “You look like someone put a bright-red fright wig on a skeleton and chucked it out of a helicopter,” then you missed his official announcement of the Anchorman sequel.

“Paramount Pictures and myself, Ronald Joseph Aaron Burgundy, have come to terms on a sequel to Anchorman,” Ferrell said, as the crowd erupted in applause. “There will be a sequel.”

Those are beautiful words to those who were fans of the foul-mouthed, booze guzzling 1970′s local news anchor that graced our movie screens nearly a decade ago. Deadline.com also reported that all the original cast plans on returning, which, without question, is phenomenal news in-itself.
