After the Celtics took care of business against the new look Miami Heat on the NBA’s opening night, the Los Angeles Lakers accepted their 2009-2010 NBA Championship rings in front of a rocking L.A. crowd. It was cool see Phil Jackson shout out the former Lakers as well as each player give their teammates a nice little introduction.
A day after LeBron’s Nike ad came out, Wade and Jordan Brand dropped his new spot. By far D. Wade’s best commercial thus far, and I’m excited to see what they do with it from here. Also includes a cameo from the hilarious Kevin Hart. Love the metaphors as Snake Charmer, Illusionist, and Green Gang represent Kobe, the Magic, and the Celtics. Perfect timing for NBA opening night so here’s to the NBA! (And the MIAMI HEAT!)
It seems as if everyone has forgotten about Dwight Howard and the Orlando Magic as serious title contenders as all of our focus has been tunneld vision in on the Miami Heat, Boston Celtics, and Los Angeles Lakers. In the new issue of Dime Magazine #60, my Dime associates spotlight DH12 and his Magic as well as give you an indepth season preview of what might be the most exciting year ever. I also chip in on the season preview as well as give you a glimpse at some of the hottest albums’ dropping in the coming months. The issue’s on newsstands now – go cop that!
While kicking it with David Letterman, Charles Barkley discusses this upcoming NBA season, LeBron James, Brett Favre, and a whole lot more of whatever is in Chuck’s head.
Decatur Dan directs the official music video for Final Hour off of Big Sean’s Finally Famous Vol. 3 mixtape. No news on the official Finally Famous album but Big Sean is doing a Def Jam showcase show tonight at S.O.B’s in New York City.
Dime’s AP got the chance to ask all of this year’s NBA Rookie Class (John Wall, DeMarcus Cousins, Evan Turner, etc.) what they got in their iPod playlists as well as what they bought after they received their first NBA paycheck. The general consensus is that they’re listening to Drake, Jay-Z, Lil’ Wayne, Kanye West, Gucci Mane, Young Jeezy, and Rick Ross while Jeremy Lin is bumping some Christina music. Most of the rookies also spent their first NBA money on a new car, a house for their mom or themselves, or … food. Hit the jump for the other DimeTV video.

This isn’t about what LeBron James has done, or hasn’t done. This is about the difference between the expectations others may have of him versus the expectations he has of himself. What should he do? The answer is a question.
