Introducing: The Apple iPad

Earlier today, Apple CEO Steve Jobs introduced the world to their newest creation, the Apple iPad.  The iPad was originally rumored as the Apple Tablet but now will officially go by the name of the iPad.  This new device can be thought of as a larger iPhone as it will run the same operating system and will be able to run any current iPhone applications.  You will also be able to read e-books, browse the web, listen to music, and everything else in between.  For users who don’t want an iPhone or don’t want to use a computer then I guess the iPad will be a perfect fit for you.  Check out the specs below and hit the jump for some high resolution photos of Apple’s newest device.

  • 0.5″ thick and 1.5lbs light
  • 9.7″ IPS display, capacitive multitouch touchscreen
  • Built-in accelerometer, mic, 30-pin connector, 802.11n Wi-Fi, compass, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR
  • 10 hours of battery life and one month standby time!
  • 1GHz Apple A4 processor
  • 16GB, 32GB and 64GB Flash storage
